Healthwatch Essex announces a new Breast Screen Grant opportunity for local community groups within Mid and South Essex.
Healthwatch Essex is pleased to announce a new funding initiative offering micro grants of £100 to £500 for community groups across Mid and South Essex. The purpose of this funding is to support activities that encourage individuals to attend their breast screening appointments.
Current data indicates that breast screening uptake in certain areas of Essex remains below the national average. To address this disparity, Healthwatch Essex is providing targeted funding to empower local community organisations to deliver initiatives that promote screening attendance and raise awareness of the importance of early detection.
Applications are particularly encouraged from diverse communities, faith-based organisations, LGBTQ+ groups, disability and lived experience networks, and groups operating within areas of deprivation. However, all eligible community groups within Mid and South Essex are welcome to apply.
Successful applicants will be required to provide feedback on how the funding was utilised and to share any testimonials or outcomes gathered during the initiative. This feedback will assist Healthwatch Essex in evaluating the impact of community-led approaches to improving health engagement and screening uptake.
