Skills for Care Workforce Development Fund
WDF is a funding stream from the Department of Health & Social Care which can be claimed from Skills for Care by the adult social care sector in England.
It funds qualifications and apprenticeships that started on or before 31 March 2024 and which will be completed by 31 March 2025.
To claim funding an organisation must provide an adult social care service and directly employ paid care staff within England. WDF funding can be used to support the development of individuals who have been recruited from abroad and those who are working on a Health and Social Care visa.
WDF Application Deadline:
To benefit from the 2024/25 WDF you must:
- Complete/submit a declaration form before 28 February 2025
- Ensure your Adult Social Care Workforce Data Set (ASC-WDS) accounts meets WDF requirements by 31 March 2025
- Claims must be submitted to Skills for Care by 31st March 2025
Adult Social Care Learning and Development Support Scheme
Adult social care employers in England who are eligible can receive reimbursement for staff training costs through the Adult Social Care Learning and Development Support Scheme (LDSS). This scheme is open to non-regulated care staff, as well as deputy and Care Quality Commission-registered managers and agency staff within the adult social care workforce.
To qualify, staff members participating in the training must be in specific roles. Additionally, evidence of the training expenses needs to be provided for the claim.
This scheme is for eligible courses and qualifications that have been both paid for and started between 1 April 2024 and 31 March 2025 (inclusive).
